Back up problem

Hi,

I've recently bought a vostro 1220 ,but while I try to back it up some note saying:" error HRESULT E-FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component"

appears and the back up process stops.what can I do to get rid of it?(my OS is Windows XP Professional)

What program are you using to back up information? Is it a web based backup?  How are you going about in attempting to backup your data?

I'm using "Dell backup and recovery manager" to backup my system(no it's not a web based backup,I tried to store the back up files on a DVD).
