Booting from Recovery after trying to partition disk

I am running Windows 7 on a Studio 15.

As my hard drive is 500GB, I tried partitioning it using a partitioning program. It failed to partition correctly and now, when the laptop boots, I come up with a choice of startups:

Drive 0 Primary 1 Recovery
Drive 0 Primary 2 Linux OS

If I boot from Recovery, everything seems to be fine with all my programs and files available but obviously I want to return everything to normal. Can anyone advise me on the process, please?

Hi, What you can do is type msconfig, press enter, then go to the bootup tab, highlight the startup you want to remove, then press delete. Or you can press F8 when you see the dell splash screen, and reinstall your OS, using the factory state. As for your partitioning your HD, you should have used the computer management feature. To get it press Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, there you will see computer management. Or,  go into Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Storage, Disk Management. Then right click your new drive, select format. From there you can assign the drive an letter.
