Can I use an XP Home Reinstallation CD to repair my XP Pro system?
My refurbished Dell 3000 is from a local charity for senior citizens. It has a legal copy of XP Pro. No software disks were included, as they use a volume license. I’ve had it for about 2 years, and the service tag show mfg. in 2005.
My system is upgraded and kept up, with xp service pack 3.
I was just given an unopened Dell Reinstallation CD for XP Home. (It includes Service pack 1a)
Can it be used with my XP Pro system to help repair it? And then run the automatic updates?

Welcome to the community
This will not work. If you will do a repair some windows file will not be present in xp home disc. It will not be successful. I can try to send a disc. You can add me as a friend and send the service tag.
