Cannot Uninstall Toshiba Bluetooth

I have an XPS gen 2 laptop with bluetooth.

I have been having problems with the toshiba bluetooth Stack. So i decided i would unistall it and then either re-install it or use the windows xp one.

However when i do add/remove on the bluetooth stack for windows by toshiba it freezes ( i have tried leaving it running for 15-20 mins) on 'Gathering Required Information' with about 20% left to go. when i try to cancel it it just sits there saying cancelling...once again for ages. The only way to close the windows it to restart the laptop by holding down the power button until it reboots.

Has anyone got any ideas? or is there more info you need off me?

Thanks,

Rob

Try reinstalling the stack then try removal again.

You can also try removal in safe mode if the above does not cure the problem

Thanks for the advice, but it seems that when i try to reinstall, it automatically goes to 'Remove the Program' window, which says i have chosen to remove the bluetooth stack. The only options i get are back, cancel or remove. When i choose remove it then gets stuck like before.

I can only assume that the uninstall is stuck half way through some how.

When i try in safe mode, it says cannot uninstall in safe mode.

Try killing any unecessary software that may be running before trying the uninstall.

antivirus
firewalls
ect..
