Cannot uninstall Dell Support Center
I have received repeated error messages that my sprtcmd.exe file is corrupt. I have tried unsuccessfully to uninstall the Dell Support Center so that I can reinstall it to resolve this issue. Perhaps related to this, several windows updates have repeatedly failed to install correctly. I am on a Vostro 1520 running on Vista Home Premium (SP2), 32 bit. When I try to uninstall the Dell Support Center, I get the error message "Internal Error 2330. 1392, C:\Program Files\Dell Support Center\gs_agent\common\inc". I also tried restarting the computer in safe mode and then uninstalling it. When I did that, it said "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance." So here I am, looking for assistance. My goal at this point is to uninstall the Dell Support Center and then reinstall it. Can anyone help with this issue?

You might try using the free version of Revo Uninstaller.
And you may need to use Vista's repair tools to check your system and clean up any other problems.

EDIT: Have you scanned for malware lately? And you should probably run chkdsk /f on the hard drive to see if you have any drive errors.

Thank you for your help. The Revo Uninstaller did enable me to uninstall the Dell Support Center. I have also run chkdsk to check for errors and it corrected several issues.
Regarding the windows updates, I have been able to install all of the "important" updates except one, and have requested email support for Microsoft to resolve that one minor issue. Hopefully they will be able to offer a solution for that.
Again, thank you.

:emotion-21:
My experience with Microsoft's support for update issues with XP has been great. Never thought I'd say that about anything Microsoft. :emotion-4: So I hope they solve your issue quickly.
