Creating a new user issues

Question

Hi, I have an Inspiron e1075 laptop running on Windows XP Media Edition.  It's been working fine until recently when I tried to create a second user on my pc.  I can create a user just fine withOUT the quick switch option.  However, on the first occassion I did so, the computer locked itself when coming out of stand-by.  Of course, it wouldn't unlock itself so I restarted and deleted the account.  On the second attempt to create an account, everything went fine again, this time WITH the quick switch feature on.  When I attempted to turn off my computer with both users logged in, nothing happened.  When I attempted to log out of my user name, the computer locked up on the log out screen.    Has anyone else had this issue?  What do you think is causing it?  Is it posible to fix, or will I just have to resign myself to one user?   Thanks in advance

try reinstalling of the Operating system   from chris
