Dimension 8200 1GBRam Re-Install Win 7 BSOD Using Internet Explorer

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with 1GB of Ram. The unit was running Win7. I had to perform a complete re-install of Win7 due to a Virus.

After installing Win 7 and performing all of the Windows updates, I get the BSOD when using Internet Explorer.

The PC then shuts down and reboots.

Any troubleshooting tips would be great.

Thank You

I did not see the BSOD yesterday, however I did notice that when IE 11 is open, my CPU and Memory are almost maxed out. Granted  it's only 1GB of Ram which is the max for this.

I have already increased the Virtual Memory to just about 3 times of the Ram.

The machine came with XP, but I do not have license for that any longer, Thinking of going back to Win 2000, just for performance purposes.

Any thoughts?

Good point. I left Win7 on it and ran CCleaner and did a Disk Defrag. I kept IE 11 open and online and have not had a re-occurrence of the BSOD.

IE runs a bit slow, due to Ran limitations, but seems ok for now.

All other programs open and close just fine.

Will continue to monitor.

Thank You
