Explorer Folder and File Appearance

This is probably real simple, but I've tried everything I can think of and searched FAQ. Probably not looking in the right place.

Is it possible to set things up on Windows XP so that when I go into Windows Explorer and open a folder, that It always displays file details instead of icons? I always have to change them back. I'm sure it's a default setting of some sort, but you think I can figure it out?

Is it possible to set this as default for floppies, CD's and memory sticks?

Andy57, Try this. Open up Windeows Explorer. Open the View Tab. Put a tick at Details.

Thanks, APS, but I already tried that. When I close Windows Explorer, and open it again in the future, I will have to set it to details again. It will not stay that way.

Andy57, Open Control Panel and click on Folder Options.  Click on View.  Check your settings here.  Try resetting all the default settings. If you manually change anything write it down so you can change it back if you do not like the setting.
