Finding out what type of Computer I have?

How can I tell what type of Dell Computer I have? (Latitude 3600, Latitude 4000, etc. etc.)

I don't have my box or guides or anything, is there another way to tell? (I want more RAM)

go to control panel, then click on "System."  You'll see all of the details about your computer (processor, RAM, etc.)

Yeah I've done that, but mine just shows this:

Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1700MHZ
1.69 GHZ
384 MB of RAM

THE EASY WAY FOR A COMPUTER PERSON TO DO IT TO REALLY MAKE SURE IS OPEN UP WHERE THE MEMORY IS THEN MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SMAE SPEED MEMORY BUT YOU CAN MIX BUT I DON'T RECOMEND IT DUE TO TECHNICAL PROBLEMS YOU WILL HAVE IN THE FUTURE OR RIGHT AWAY.YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM MANY MB AND GB.

IF YOUR COMPUTER IS A PENTIUM 3 OR UNDER I RECOMEND YOU PUTTING IT UP TO 512 AND IF YOUR COMPUTER IS NEWER GO AS HIGH AS THE COMPUTER SAYS IT CAN HANDLE.:robotsad:

Do what Denny Denham suggested and download Belarc Advisor.  Run the program and find out what system you have.  Than go to http://www.crucial.com  and look towards the top of the site and it will hand hold you through the process of selecting the right ram for that system.

If you are using windows xp than you can :

Click on START

Click on All Programs

Find  Accessories  near top of list

Than find System Tools

Than down to System Information

When your system information box opens up, look over towards the right hand column and find SYSTEM MODEL of your computer.  Than go to crucial.com
