Forever Vista boot up.

Slow boot up. I turned on bootlog and realized that I have quite a bit of "Unable to load" errors in ntboot.log and they are not consistent at all. Sometimes they load majority of the drivers but sometimes a lot did not get loaded. That's when the boot up takes much longer. Loaded driver \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys usually takes up about 2-3 minutes to get to next driver loading. Cold boot from the morning would sometimes take 30 minutes. Any idea to make this driver loading more consistent and stable? Vista diagnostic finding no issue. Vista Start Up repair reported error 0x490 on one accurence on C:/windows. Not much details from the there. A few of the boot up performance logs showed 300000 - 600000ms boot up time.

My Spec:

453MT

Core i7 920

8 gig DDR3 1066

Haupauge TV tunner

ATI 3650

The rest standard.

Here is just one of the example from ntboot log. Some kind of a timing issue here?

Milodele,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Sometimes 3rd party software like Bit Defender can cause havock to the system. Try uninstalling it to see if that will resolve the issue.

Thanks, Jesse. I have reinstalled to a new bitdeferent 2010. Boot up still slow on random basis. When it is slow, then once booted into the windows, i would not be able to use dvd driver. Once right clicked on the drive icon, explorer would hang. Opening up Media Player would hang as well. IE8 or other applications would hang if i click on them. I have to eject the bluray drive and it will releases all these hangs. If i am lucky, i would be able to use the dvd/cdrom/bd drive after 10-30 ejects. It will then recognizes cds, media player opening fine and everything would be great.
