Had vista on pc, changed to xp now want to go back to vista, no recovery cd, how do i do it

Well i had a 531i and had windows vista home premium and a friend of mine changed it to xp for me, now i want it back to vista but it did not come with a recovery cd. the recovery partion still works fine but when i open the system restore it comes up with an error

can anyone help me?
