How do i reinstall windows
I want to reinstall windows xp on my desktop but i dont have the cd to do so and i know their is a way to do it. i just dont know the keys to press when the computer is starting up in order to do so.

You'll need the CD to reinstall, but what you're looking for is "boot options"
When you start up your computer on the bios screen it'll say either "boot options" or "startup options" - something to that effect. You usually have to hold down one of your function keys, and typically it's F12, or F2 and select the option to boot from your cd/dvd drive.

You can try PC restore, start the computer and when you see the dell logo or www.dell.com press the CTRL key and at the same time press the F11 key, both for 2 seconds and release them both, and dell factory image should load if the particion hasnt been damaged ..
