I can't restore my factory windows 7

I have a dell inspiron n4050 that came with a windows 7 starter 64 bit, after a while I installed a windows 8 and formatted the C partition , now I can't restore my windows 7 , even though the recovery partition is still intact , I downloaded dell back up and recovery , but when i try to restore the image my laptop shuts down for some reason . I hope you can help me with my problem
