Initial set up of Windows Vista Home.. pointers from exp. users please

Hello,

I'm familiar with Win XP Pro set up and prior OS's only..  for example I know of the hidden admin account when you first start setting up XP-Pro and setting up permissions to folders, files etc. how to manage users and other things.

I'm waiting for a laptop  and I'm trying to get a head start with the initial set up so that I don't have to re-do it as I get familiar with the OS... So if I could get pointers in things I should know for the initial set up of Vista home edition,  I would greatly appreciate it.  I want the system to run in the most secure manner as possible relating to user access, internet and home networking access.
