Inspiron 1720 & Windows 7 Upgrade

Hello, I have an Inspiron 1720 and noticed on the Dell site that only the Inspiron 1750 is listed as upgradeable to Windows 7.  However, I downloaded and ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Adviser, which claims my system is eligible, and that drivers are available, etc.

I am currently running Vista Home 32-bit, and the Adviser claims I can to upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium.  Is this true, or am I out of luck as far as upgrading the OS?

Thanks!

Windows 7 runs great on the 1720. I have been running it since Feb. with not problems. The one thing I would tell you to do before you upgrade is to install the A09 Bios or you will have problems installing Windows 7. Here are some links from others running Windows 7 on the Inspiron 1720:

Hello,

I would rely on the Upgrade adviser.

The downloads page for your system is HERE. Most if not all the required drivers and files will be available with the Windows 7 install. Custom Dell items might be harder to come by since there are no files on your page listed for Windows 7.
