Inspiron 600m Want to go back to Dell Install or completely re-install Windows XP Home Edition
I have a 600m that my daughter has messed up (CDs will not read/write) laptop will hang, etc. I would like to get it back to a stable staring place. Either the original Dell Install or perhaps wipe the disk and reload the OS. However, I did not receive any CDs when the laptop was shipped, especially a CD of Windows XP Home edition. Anybody have any ideas??? Thanks!

You have two options. You can return the system to "as shipped" condition using PC Restore, as described here.
To reinstall XP (and a good idea even if you use PC Restore) contact Dell at one of the links in this post and request an XP reinstallation CD.
