MS Windows XP Home Ed
Can I reinstall on my D610 using the XP Pro CD, as my original is lost? I need to reinstall from scratch, as there is an issue with the the OS.

Seems to me that there is a way to reset the system w/o the disk.
(Memory failing) Was it F8 during boot? (Have to catch it early in the boot process). Loads the origonal files from the hidden disk partition. Check your help to see what it tells you.
BTW, did you try fixing the os by running the system file checker? It checks Windows to see if all the correct files are present, correct versions and valifdates. If it finds a wrong file of corrupted file, it reloads it from a hidden directory (windows\system32\dllcache).
Also, if I remember correctly (been a long time) I think that all your origonal installation files are stored in windows\I386. Again, check your system help for information. (Perhaps someone else can add a little more wisdom to this).
