Microsoft office saved with personal files after factory restore?

I have a Dell Studio 15 running Windows 7 and I would like to restore it back to factory settings to fix some problems. If I use the save personal data feature,
will Microsoft office still function? Office did not come with the computer and I don't have any more licenses on my disk. Thanks.

Re: Microsoft office saved with personal files after factory restore?

Hi MikeD1122,

Welcome to the Dell Community,

Thank you for posting on Dell Community Forum, the save personal data feature will not work for Microsoft Office while performing the Dell Factory Image Restore since MS Office did not come with the computer. If you have purchased MS Office and installed the same on the PC with a valid license key, you will be able to reinstall it after the image is restored. You can also get the license key for your MS Office from Microsoft.

You will be able to install MS Office while performing Dell Factory Image only if you have backed up the image using Dell Data Safe Local Backup. Please see the link below.

Note: Please back up all your data (personal files, folders etc) before proceeding with OS installation.

You can also try this link to know more information about the different types of Operating System Reinstallation Options you have.
