I have recently on my laptop received notifications that my hard drive is having problems. So i recently bought a new hard drive, and installed it. The problem was that when i turned on my laptop - Dell Studio 1737, it said that it didn't recognise an OS. how do i get my OS on the new hard drive? i have got a backup.

I would like to know if you have the recovery discs handy with you. If yes, please try the steps mentioned in the article on How to manually reinstall Windows Operating System. Post re-installation of the operating system, please ensure to install the drivers in the correct order.
