Optiplex 9020 and Windows 7

Hello,

I have purchased a new Optiplex 9020 SFF which came with windows 7 64-bit professional installed, as well as with a windows 8 CD.

I would like to reinstall windows 7 64-bit on a new SSD drive.

How can I obtain the ISO for that version? I do not wish to install Windows 8.

Thanks!

You cannot download a .iso. Microsoft broke all the Digital River .isos and replaced them with a non-functional tool which deliberately blocks the Dell OEM Windows 7 Licenses, you can see my video which demonstrates this (moreover as you are using downgrade rights you don't have a unique Windows 7 product key anyway and hence would be unable to use this tool):

What you need to do is to create a Rescue Disk (Bootable External Hard Drive) or Factory Backup (Bootable USB) using the latest version of Dell Backup and Recovery as instructed here which you may boot from to reinstall your factory settings onto the SSD:

Thanks, I ended up cloning the disk somehow with Dell backup and recovery.

It's weird I am not provided with a CD or cant obtain an ISO containing the OS which came with my PC..

Glad you managed it, Microsoft's policies regarding Windows 7 installation media and their flawed tool are quite infuriating.

I realised I sent you the wrong link, I meant to link you to my Dell Backup and Recovery guide and not my now obsolete Download Windows 7 guide:
