Often, when computer (XP system) is checking mail, or when I click on "check mail" from outlook mail page, I get no response except the error message, "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection." Help.

There could be a number of reasons for this. When it happens to me it is usually caused by my ISP server being down. What is the complete message?

Did you contact your ISP Service for help?
Do you have Norton?

The error message is now reappearing with frequency. It's complete text is:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: "People PC Online." Server: People PC.com." Protocol: Pop 3, Port 110, Secure (SSL), No, Error Number Ox80CCCOF.
I am using Windows XP and am not on a network.

I have Norton 2004, OEM Version.
I checked, and the time-out deal is checked in Norton on my system.
I just now sent an email to my ISP about the problem, but I expect it'll take a day or two to hear back, or maybe next week.

Bass Singer, What version of Norton AntiVirus are you running? One thing to check in Norton is to go to Options>E-Mail>Advanced and make sure there is a checkmark at Protect against Timeouts.
It is possible that this could have something to do with your ISP. Most ISP's have a number to call for techinical help. Also how are you connecting-dial up, cable modem, DSL...?????
