Hi, Microsoft would not help me since the software came installed on my computer. Hopefully somebody here can help.
I use Outlook express for mail. Two things drive me nuts.
First, whenever I try to send a new message, the system says that the message is incoming and therefore will not send the message. I have to change this in the from box for each and every message that I send. It has gotten old!
Second, when I log on I always get the following message:
The host 'Incoming' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'Incoming', Server: 'Incoming', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
Despite the error message, there is no obvious error. I receive emails just fine.
Re: Outlook Express is annoying the heck out of me
In OE go to Tools|Accounts. Click to select your account then click the "Properties" button. Make sure that the name you wish to have as the "From" block and your email address are correct. On the Servers tab make sure that the names of both your incoming (POP3) and outgoing (SMTP) servers match what your ISP requires.
