PROTECTION MODE WINDOWS 7
Had new computer for 2 weeks and still having problems...:emotion-6:
At the bottom of my internet browser page I have this Internet Protected Mode Off?
What is this?
How do I switch it on?
Or is it that my anti virus AVG has switched it off?
All I want is to get it running properly, then I can backup, and recovery disc.

If you hover your mouse over the "Internet | Protected Mode:Off", you will see a tip that instructs you to "Double-click to change security settings".

In addition to the advice offered above, 'Protect Mode' is a setting which can be turned on or off (via a tick box) in Control Panel --> Internet Options.
The tick box option, can be found under the 'Security' tab (near the bottom) :emotion-5:

Hmmmm . . . . . Where does "Internet Options" appear in "Control Panel" ?
Tools>Internet Options>Security tab perhaps ? ? ?

Yep... Have tried that, clicked the enable box, apply ok restarted my computer, and guess what. It's still OFF.
Any more ideas....
