Problem with SILENT installation of Device Drivers (D630) from Network
Hi, I am having problem with installing any drivers that has been downloaded from the DELL support website.
I know that these drivers are downloaded as an EXE file (example : R175929.exe for a D630 laptop) and can be extracted to any folder and then setup.exe can be double clicked to run the installation.
The above process workes fine.
BUT, .... I am trying to install these drivers from a network share with the silent installation parameter "/s" and that is NOT working !! When called, the setup.exe loads into the memory and unloads immediately after 2-3 seconds and the drivers are not installed.
My installation command line would look something like this :
\\servername\foldername\setup.exe /s
Now, for your ready reference, I already have a "setup.iss" file in the installation folder to support this silent installation that was created using the "/r" option with "setup.exe".
I could not find any useful information in the "event log" of windows as well.
Can someone please help me with this ?
Regards,
iSukanta.
