In the process of installing Windows 8.1 the recovery partition seems to be corrupt. However, please follow the steps below to restore the computer to factory state.
1. Turn on the computer, after the Dell Logo appears and then disappears repeatedly press the <F8> key until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
2. From the Advanced Boot Options highlight Repair Your Computer with the arrow keys and press <ENTER>.
3. Click ‘Next’ and login to your administrator account on the computer. The administrator account is the account created the first time the computer was turned on.
4. Click ‘Dell Factory Image Recovery and DataSafe options’ and follow the prompts provided.
Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks for your help!
I have tried your advice.Unfortunately,it still go to win8.1 Boot Optitions,Even if I set win 7 OS as 1st boot, when I press f8,it go into win 7 Boot Optitons, After I choose the "Recovery" option ,it would turn to win8.1 options.then in it .
So I still need your help.
The Integration between Windows startup repair screen and Dell Factory image is corrupted due to Windows 8 operating system upgrade. That is the reason you are not able to use the factory restore option. Performing manual reinstallation of operating system using the disc is the next ideal step.
