Help!!! I have 2 Dell Inspiron N5030 laptops. I have factory reset one using the F8 key, however when I attempt to use the F8 on the other, it takes me to the restore your computer screen. I press enter, but then it continues on to log onto the computer. It does not give me the necessary next step to begin the factory restore. The only disc that I have that came w/ the laptop is a Drivers and Utilities disc which I do not know how to use. It seems driver C has some sort of issue I am unsure about. Can you please help me?
I have provided a link below to do a system restore (windows 7):
If the Factory image is intact, below link would help you with factory reset (Windows7 😞
If the factory image would not work, reinstallation of operating system would be the next step.
Below mentioned link would help you with the Operating system reinstallation (Windows 7) :
Awaiting your response!
Note: PC restore (Factory Image reset) would erase complete data from the computer. Kindly back up data before performing PC restore.
Hello Rajesh R.
I have tried to use the F8 option quite a few times, however once I select Restore my Computer, it just logs in as normal, it does not give the next option which is select language. I can not get past the 1st step.
When I attempt to do a system restore from a date, I am getting the error "The Disk OS (C:) has errors. Windows has detected file system corruption on OS (C:) you must check for the disk errors before it can be restored."
Once I check it it does not allow me to select anything due to corruption..... I have been working on this all day and have tried all of the methods you've sent in the links. Do you have any ideas how to move past or get rid of my corruption???
If the computer boots into windows, try to do a clean boot to check if it would work, providing the link to do a clean boot for reference: http://bit.ly/12PfxI
Run Microsoft fix-it for slow performance issue and check if the performance improves, here is the link for fix-it: http://bit.ly/knGAPf
Do SFC scan now and check if it fixes any corruption, please use the following link for detailed instructions: http://bit.ly/WLhNh
I have also provided a link to run “CHKDSK”. Which is a troubleshooting steps mentioned in the previous link.
Also, run system repair. Follow below mentioned steps to run system restore:
If the above step does not work, Operating system reinstallation would be the next option.
Note: Operating system reinstallation would erase complete data from the computer. Kindly back up data before performing Operating system reinstallation.
