Studio 1555 win7 pro 64bit not recognising 8gb ram
Upgraded the ram with 2 by 4gb rams. These are recognised in bios and reported correctly. However win7 pro 64 bit version reflects the 3gb limit....The bios us the latest version (A13). Can anyone help in releasing the extra ram as I'm trying to use it for bmw car software and it's very ram hungry. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you use the same type of RAM that is installed? DDR2 or DDR3? Here is a slector from Crucial that might be helpful:

Found in startup (via msconfig) there's a box that sets max ram. Simply unticking released the ram. The clye tobtge problem was In system as it reported win 7 had 2.96gb out of 8gb being used. The thread can be closed
