System Information NFO Error ?

For a couple of weeks now I have been

getting a System Information Cannot Open

This NFO File.  It might be corrupted etc...

Several calls to Dell support have been

unable to solve this for me -- all they

can tell me is to go through the startup

programs, disable each one, and restart,

which would take hours.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks

And no, there is no specific file

name attached -- except "System Information"

which is obviously part of Microsoft VISTA?

Please post your Dell model number, as well as any spec you have.

Is there a specific file name attached to the error.

Is there any more info on the erro than you first provided such as a file or program name?

Another thing to try is to boot into Safe Mode. Tap the F8 key when you see the Dell splash screen see if it gives the same error.

Hi,

See if information in this article helps.

Well, thanks but the whole point is to not

have to see that NFO error every time I

start up in the first place.

I don't want to be opening these messages,

just eliminate them...

Let's see if there are references to msinfo32 or .nfo in the startup points.

Download Startup Tracker application from this page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_starttrack.htm

Launch the program, and click the "View log" button. Post the contents of the log file here.
