VISTA Business 32 Upgrade from MVLS to Dell Precision 670 workstaion

The dell advisor listed no issues.
When I run the VISTA upgrade I get
You must make the follwing changes before installing windows
close windows installation go to programs and uninstall the following programs
Dell Storage Manager Driver
The compatibility report will be saved to current Windows desktop
Potential issues were detected with installed applications/devices
Windows Messenger 5.1
Intel(R) Network Configuration Services
nVidia Display drivers/nView Desktop Manager (NVIDIA Drivers)
Where is the dell storage manager driver and how do I dispose of it enough to do the VISTA upgrade?

I found a RAID manager in Programs/Dell but when I uninstalled it this made no apparent difference.  I still got the same results (no conflcts) and the same Dell Storage manager driver issue on trying to upgrade.
I then downshifted the box to Windows 2000, formatted the hard drive, installed Windows 2000 SP4, updated the Dell Drivers, and then chose VISTA as a new Windows installation...
It seems cumbersome to me but I did get VISTA on the box... and once that was on the box I was able to run updates on it through Windows UPDATE services.
I have yet to attempt to get the SIGMATEL HD audio back - I hear that's a whole other issue.
I did get speakers with stereo on however so I may mess with that later.
I tried various AV test products but the one that appears to work and update correctly is from FSECURE.

I'm having the same problem (really annoying).  I can't do the 2000 downgrade because I don't want to reformat my hard drive.
