Vista can't copy folder properties to new location?

When I try to copy folder to usb drive, and my e520 computer pop up a warning " are you sure you want to copy this folder without its properties? The folder has properties that cannot be copied to the new location." if I kick yes, it can copy the folder content.

And I try all other folder also have the same warning! even empty floder.

I wonder anyone know how to fit it ?

The USB drive must be formatted NTFS for Windows to copy the properties of the file.

Properties are stored as metadata in what is called a "Alternate Data Stream" attached to the file, and cannot be copied to a FAT partition, only NTFS.

It is a limitation of the FAT file system.

You can convert the FAT partition to NTFS without data loss, but always back up data before doing so.
