WSiFi and t430

For reason too long to go into I want to use a wireless 802.11AC on my t430 running Windows 2012R2 standard.  I have tried a Linksys AC1200, and a Netgear (don't remember the model number) USB adapter. I also tried an Intel AC7260 PCIe adapter.  I used the Windows 8.1 drivers with no luck.  Any ideas?   I am cross posting on the Server and Networking forums.
