What is Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0 DE?

I am confused because a CD called Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0 DE came with my computer. I do not know what Roxio is, I am thinking it is some cd/dvd burning software. I am wondering if it is necessary to install on my computer, for example if it is the only way I can burn CDs/DVDs. I have an Inspiron 1501 that is only a couple months old. If I could get any information about this product, that would be great. Thanks.

It should already be installed, those would be backup discs. They are CD + DVD burning programs by Roxio made for Dell.

It is for burning data and audio CDs and for creating your own video DVDs or slide shows.

You can get an idea of what it is for by looking at the features of Roxio Easy media creator 9 suite

But be aware that the OEM software you got with your PC from Dell is a cut down version of the retail version, so not all features will be available to you.
