Windows 7 32 bit on 15 R Inspiron 5537

Hello,

I've bought Dell Inspiron 15R 5537. I've tried to install Windows 7 64 bit, however some of my favorite programs are not compatible with 64 bit.

So i decided to stick with Windows 7 32 bit. But i noticed that there is no Win7 32 bit drivers ar support.dell.com.

So is it possible to use Win7 32bit on this computer, if so - where can i get 32 bit drivers?

What programs? Dell do not support the 32 Bit OS for their Home systems anymore. It would have been better to have purchased a business system.

If it is just a few programs you would be better installing the 64 Bit OS and using a program like VirtualBox to install a 32 Bit version of Windows in a Virtual Machine.

Alternatively you need to find one or more business systems with similar hardware to the Inspiron 5537 and take the drivers from them. You may get some limited functionality as utilities such as Dell Quickset may not load. You also might not be able to find all the drivers for the hardware variants in particular video cards from a business system. Some other drivers will have both 32 and 64 bit installers included but Dell will state them only as 64 bit compatible.

Thank you,

I think i'll try find alternatives for those programs, which could run on 64bit.

Magic Disc can't be installed (i don't know why, even though it says 64 bit.

Skype 3.8 I personally prefer an older version :)

AutoCAD 2006. And probably some others...

Quick update about MagicDisc.

I tried to install another Virtual CD/DVD emulator. Program installs successfully. However when it installs drivers for virtual CD-ROM, it fails to create a new CD-ROM at My Computer.

Any suggestions?

Okay its probably best to use the latest version of Skype for both compatibility and security reasons however I preferred version 4.2.

Magic disc never used it.

AutoCAD 2006, depending on what you are doing, if using it for non-commercial use you can probably join the Autodesk student Community:
