Windows freeze after hibernation Dell Inspiron 660

Every few days my computer freezes up when I wake it from hibernation.  Device Manager says Intel Graphics card driver is up to date.  Windows updates current.

Any suggestions?

Hi barbara2351,

You may run the hardware diagnostics to check the hardware functionality.

  • Shut down and restart the computer.
  • Press the F12 key immediately when the Dell logo appears. The Boot Device list appears.
  • Select Diagnostics and press the Enter key.

If there are no issues found, update the system BIOS.

The link is http://dell.to/1cT735B.

Note: Before updating BIOS please ensure that:
*No external devices (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) should be connected.
*All other programs should be closed and documents saved

Please share the operating system.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you for you quick answer.  I ran the hardware diagnostic and all systems were fine.  I updated the bios.  It went from A 5 to A 10 I believe.  I will let you know if the problem occurs again.

Try installing the latest Intel Management Engine Interface, the version Windows 10 gets from Windows Update has some issues causing a black screen when coming out of sleep. You want to go to the ME_SW_MSI folder and then to the production subfolder. You then want to launch the .exe
