I've just had my XPS 8300 motherboard replaced (free of charge) and noticed that it has A07 but if I put my tag into the support section it lists A06.
I've found links and references to A07 on various web sites and (most) things seem to be working so should more people be using it?
Hi Gym Rat,
The A07 version of BIOS might come with the newer version of motherboards. It has not been updated in the Dell support site as it comes out in cycles so in the next cycle it should be updated.
The A07 version BIOS can be used once it is available on the Dell support site.
Question does anything look different on the bios? I have the 8300 and was hoing uefi was enabled . Is their an option for uefi boot In the a07 bios?
From what i had heard dell had stopped updating BIOS for the xps 8300, am i wrong making that assumption? i figured it was due to the multiple instances of video card incompatibilities that it was going through.
The BIOS update is still in the initial stage of getting uploaded on the support site. If any issues gets detected it will be informed.
Unfortunately we don’t have any fixed timeframe for the release of A07 BIOS. Once the test is completed it will be updated on the Dell support site.
If it's still under test, should I have it or would I be better / safer with 06?
If your system works don't bother trying to change it.
