defrag problem

Hi All,
I seem to have a problem on my 8100 dell. I cleaned up the computer ,disk clean up and cleared the cookies started to defrag and i noticed the top bar  and the bottom bar was two thirds red with some blue and it would only go to 12% and then it would finish very quickly with a message:
4  15.30 gb \recycler\nprotect\00198591.avi
7 16.91gb \recycler\nprotect\00198590.avi
and leaving all that red still on the bars. saying some files could not ne defragmented sounds like Norton, but how do I get rid of that stuff.?  For Viruis Protection I have Norton system works 2006 and I am not happy with it. P C World says its a memory eater.

Sounds like you have movie files in Norton's trash bin. I don't have Norton anymore, but if you can delete the AVI's, that may solve your problem.

Or go to Norton's website, and look for answers there. (unless someone here can give you a better answer)

Try defrag in safe mode.
