windows 7
i just bought my new dell inspiron1440. its current os is windows vista basic..
i am upset for a reason that i am not eligible to upgrade to windows 7 for free.
im hoping that i could have upgrade my vista to windw7..

Where did you buy the laptop, and did you check the specifications before doing so?
As you've now found out, not all laptops/desktop systems qualify for the free upgrade to Windows 7.
If it had been eligible for the free upgrade, that fact would almost certainly have been mentioned - specifically, next to the pre-installed OS :emotion-55:
