T50 connect to Citrix XenApp 6 over internet not working (LAN works)

 T50 connect to Citrix XenApp 6 over internet not working (LAN works)

As a redundant soln for a mission critical office in a hurricane zone, I would like to be able to connect the T50s over any internet connection (think hotel, coffee shop, etc) to my XenApp server. Currently, my pcs can connect fine off the ipsec VPN, but my T50s can't (hitting the same router).

I thought first maybe it was a "ping before connect" issue as I had that on the LAN initially, but after enabling ping temporarily, it still didn't connect.

I have had the T50s working with XenApp fundamentals over a non-VPN connection - am I missing something?
