Export WMS settings
Hello all,
I'm working on setting up a secondary WMS server for my environment as a fallback should the primary one go down. The plan would be to update the DNS entry for the WMS server so the thin clients start sending their requests and updates to the secondary server if the first one fails.
I'm trying to avoid having to manually recreate all of the groups, policies and assignments on the second WMS server. Is there a way to backup or export WMS settings?

I'm not sure how you're trying to replicate data from one server to the other. However, you can migrate to another server by exporting and importing the Mongo database.
WMS uses Mongo. Just a tip, once you restore the database you'll need to click in each policy to attach it. It will display like it's linked but I found that you'll need to edit each policy once, make no changes, and just save it so it does apply the policy to the clients. Just a buggy thing.
examples
echo "db.dropDatabase()" | "PATH\DELL\WMS\MongoDB\bin\mongo.exe" -u stratus -p PASSWORDBLANKED --authenticationDatabase admin --host 127.0.0.1 stratus
"PATH\DELL\WMS\MongoDB\bin\mongorestore.exe" --host 127.0.0.1 -u stratus -p PASSWORDBLANKED --authenticationDatabase admin --db stratus ".\stratus"
WYSE support should ba able to get you the syntax if you run into problems.
