WMS Portal SSL Certificate

I had put in an SSL cert for the web portal of WMS a year or so ago.  Its been working fine, however that cert was expiring.  We renewed the cert, but despite repeated attempts, I wasn't able to get the new one loaded before the cert expired.  Whenever I tried to upload the new cert, it just spun and never took it.  Now I get the "Your connection is not private" on just about every click and the System Setup screen in Portal administration just shows a blank page and most other pages are non-functional.  Anyone know of a way to change the certificate outside of the portal, on the server directly?
