Wyse Management Suite 1.3 kiosk bug!

Latest version Wyse Management Suite EASY SETUP not working kiosk mode applications

We have installed the latest version (nov-2018) of the Dell Wyse Management Suite, i think it is version 1.3 but this info doesn't seem to be found anywhere...

Everything works, and responds, we can manage the Win 10 IOT devices, reboot, pull logs etc..

The only thing that doesn't work is adding applications to the easy setup part of the policy.
This is (ofcourse) for us the most important part, we now have to unregister and do the Easy setup through the client device. We have been searching manuals and the internet for several days now, but no hint on this section. It almost seems nobody is using kiosk mode setup through Dell wms.

Printscreen dell Wyse Management SuiteThe devices keep coming up with either an empty kiosk screen (the custom logo does show) or only with the configured rdp connections, but whatever we try in the applications in this section, it does not do anything.

Such a shame, we are now forced to unregister the devices, configure them locally, and we will not be able to centralize support. instead if anything changes or gets added, we need to visit every desk to make the change.

We are now looking into switching/testen HP thin clients, because the lack of manuals on the, in my opinion, most important part of the suite is really frustrating.

Hello buffalobound,

Thank you for your reply.
I have the latest versions of WDA and Easy Setup.

It appeared a few things went wrong, first of all, only .exe applications are allowed, second quotes around the executable are not allowed.

So changing e.g. Internet explorer to: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe (instead of with " ") was the solution.dellwms.png

Now only to figure out how we can retain the easy setup kiosk settings, in case the WMS Server is unavailable, and we are good to go. At the moment, when de WMS server is not available, wyse easy setup reverts to the local setting, while it should always keep the config send by the WMS server. (e.g. with only a few updates a month or less, it would be a waste to keep the wms server running 24/7)

1) Make sure you have the write filter enabled.

2).  Make sure you have the latest WDA (14.3)   https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/wyse-wms/research

3)  Make sure you have 1.1 is Easy Setup installed on device

4)  Contact support and open a ticket

Has the bug that Wyse Easy Setup that prevents a seconds instance of the same application from being shown? Such a case would be launching the same application with different arguments.

Item 1 = Internet -> Site A

Item 2 = Internet -> Site B

hi,

how can we contact wyse support? phone? ticket? email?

why isn't there a complete detailed wyse easy setup manual?

how to use the custom icon setting under wyse easy setup - kiosk mode - applications on wysemanagementsuite.com?

not showing more than one instance of the same application is driving us crazy i think we are going to send back all our devices!

clipboard_image_0.png

also how to hide remove the default browser app/icon!?

can we disable the internal wyse 5060 speaker and leave the audio jack working for headphones!?

ps: and also please add support for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
