Ipad 2...will desktop come on/off...

PostIpad 2...will desktop come on/off...

Hi Community Members...
I have an ipad 2 and want to connect to my Windows Vista Ultimate computer.
What am unsure about is that if I connect my ipad when out and about to the desktop at home will the desktop remain OFF (ideal solution)at home OR will
it come ON.
May I thank all so much in advance for your help and time with this enquiry.
Best.
Paul

Yes. I have worked it out...
...the computer has to remain ON...
...I think you can leave it on idle-state as well...
Best.

RE: Ipad 2...will desktop come on/off...

I am a little confused on what you are asking exactly, so I will try and answer the best I can.

If you want to connect to your computer, it must be ON. You can turn the monitor off so anyone near the desktop computer would not see that you are connected. Unfortunately we do not support Wake On Lan. So if you attempted to connect while your computer was off or in sleep mode, it will not turn on or wake up.

What method would you be using to connect to your computer? If you are using RDP, the desktop computer will stay at the login screen because only 1 user can view the computer at a time. If you were using VNC, it is possible for other users to be able to view the desktop while you are connected.

Please let me know if I did not answer your question.

Hi Josh…

Thank you for a reply…

>You can turn the monitor off so anyone near the desktop computer would not see that you are connected.
Thank you this is handed to know…

>Unfortunately we do not support Wake On Lan.
Are all your products at present without this feature…?

>If you are using RDP, the desktop computer will stay at the login screen because only 1 user can view the computer at a time.
Does this mean that I could use it because am 1 person…?

>If you were using VNC, it is possible for other users to be able to view the desktop while you are connected.
Yes. This feature is valuable once needed.

May I thank you for your help, advice and time with current enquiry.

Best.

Unfortunately none of our current products support this as of right now.

Correct, only one person can be logged into Windows at a time. This is the same when connecting with RDP. Say someone was using your physical computer, then you connected remotely via PocketCloud, the person who was physically on the computer would be brought to the login screen as soon as you connected via PocketCloud.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
