Wrong keyboard before rdp session opens

Wrong keyboard before rdp session opens

Hi, this is a bug report.

When one tries to connect to a french Windows Server that refuses stored passwords in rdp connexions, then one needs to authentificate manually.

Despite the preset keyboard lang stored in Pocket Cloud connexions, Windows still loads EN keyboard and one needs to have it changed manually.

This is upsetting and the trick won't even work with Windows 2000 servers.

See if this resolves your issue:
1) Go to the "My Computers" page within PocketCloud.
2) Tap the "Edit" button next to your connection.
3) Tap the "Keyboard Layout" option.
4) Select "French" from the list and Save.
5) Try connecting again.

This doesn't. Keyboard layout gets set only after Windows session opens. Makes it impossible to fill password in correctly. This is the bug I'm reporting here.

Could you guys please try and reproduce this behavious so it hopefully gets fixed in next release ? I recommended this app to my boss and I would need it fixed as soon as possible. We deal with Windows 2000 servers on a daily basis.

Yes I do have the 3 of them set to french. Maybe I should mention I am professionnal IT support and a sysadmin. I set up and run rdp connexions to Terminal Servers on a daily basis.

I call it a bug when despite setting all lang settings to french, I still need to click the lang icon on the bottom left hand corner of Windows 2008 R2 login screen and manually set keyboard from english to french every time I need to open a new session (reconnecting an existing Windows session works fine). Before I do so, the azerty virtual keyboard will go qwerty (a becomes q and so on).

As per providing a password that wouldn't work : azerty would never work.

This issue is very upsetting especially because PocketCloud is such a great app. I really hope it gets fixed soon. Beside, iTap has the exact same problem than I'm describing here. Also, non iOS based clients connect fine to our servers. Even HP ThinConnect Linux based clients.

There are three places that the keyboard lanaguage can be set:
1) In the iPad OS settings
2) In PocketCloud
3) In Windows

Do you have all three of these set to French? Can you provide me with an example of a password that doesn't work?

Works fine for me... see this video:

If you have a way for me to reproduce then please do share the steps.

Still works ok for me. Can you take a screenshot of both the keyboard in PocketCloud as well as the page in Settings > General > Keyboard?

Here's how: http://www.iosvideo.com/ios/how-to-t...-with-iphone-4

Well this video is a good idea. First thing I notice is my keyboard doesn't have this key that cycles through national keyboards. Also, the account you log into already has a session opened on the server. You reconnect to an existing session. This scenario works for me too. What fails is open a new session.

Thank you for the screenshots! That was very helpful! I have reproduced the issue and will talk to our Developers about fixing it in the next release.
