vnc with auto discovery (gmail sign in)

vnc with auto discovery (gmail sign in)

Ive installed the free version of pocket cloud on my iphone 4
and the companion on my windows xp computer.
Either im seriously missing something or its not possible to setup vnc with auto discovery.
the only reference im finding to setting up a remote machine with vnc is manually.
I hope im wrong on this..as it is stated in the app store that this should be possible.
please help me out.

Im using the latest version software on both platform.
Also I should mention that im able to rdm throught auto discovery....
but as I said....I want vnc

still waiting for comments.
Again..the app description clearly states that it offer s hassle free setup with gmail for vnc.
do I by chance have to install a vnc server on the remote machine.
they say nothing of the sort in the description....and I've used sever other vnc app without installing vnc servers.

I have used both rdm+ for blackberry and phonemypc for android on this particular application without having to install anything but the desktop companions.

My question is...does pocket cloud require third party software for vnc viewing on iOS

Any specific reason you want to run VNC instead of RDP? Windows XP Pro already has RDP built in so there is no need to run VNC.

Got it. In that case you will want to install TightVNC Server. Once you do that open up the PocketCloud Companion and log out and then back in. After that the VNC connection should show up in the Auto Discovered list on your iPhone.

Ok i have done that..and now the vnc remote machine shows on my iphone.
But when i go to log in...it tries for a while and then give the following error...failed to connect to server.
Im thinking this is our firewall?
Any ideas?

1) Right click on the TightVNC tray icon and select "Configuration".
2) Click on the "Access Control" tab.
3) Under "Loopback Connections" ensure that "Allow loopback connections" is checked.
