Working out issues with new setup - C10LE

Working out issues with new setup - C10LE

We are deploying thin clients for the first time and it has been a learning experience. We are deploying some C10LEs and need help with some small issues.....

1) The first C10LE we received and deployed has ThinOS 6.5 installed while the others have version 7. We are attempting to upgrade the 6.5 device to 7 but at this point are unsuccessful. The WNOS.INI file is configured and is being read by the device and we have the AutoLoad=2 setup within it. We've downloaded and extracted the 7.0.0_30-C10LE executable from the Wyse Support and Self-Service site and placed WTOS_C10LE_7.0.0_30.exe in the WNOS directory. But at this point, we are at a lose and any help would be appreciated.

2) The WTOS 7 devices work great but we are having a small issue with removing the Default ICA* and Default RDP* links from the Connections list. When we try to remove them locally, we receive an error message stating that the connections cannot be removed. The two RDP connections that we have configured within the WNOS.INI file show within the Connections window along with those two links. How do we remove those two links?

1. Make sure the files have annonymous permission set on them so the thin client is allowed to pull them off the FTP site. Make sure they are also in the wnos file within the wyse folder, if thats how you have your DHCP settings defined for your root.

2. There is a nice tool called config generator for the ThinOS.
http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/modul...k7n519ik5dghu6

Download that tool and go through the wizard it will help you generate a great ini file without doing it by hand. All the options you want or dont want can be selected or deselected.

Here is a snap of my ini file that does everything you want. the ****** will need to be replaced with your information respectivly.

RE: Working out issues with new setup - C10LE

Thanks for the response. I've made the appropriate change to the permissions and will check that out shortly and let you know the outcome. Shortly after submitting this post, I came across the freewysemonkeys.com site and found the Config Generator. Nice little app that will make life a lot easier. I had already created a new WNOS.INI file and the system successfully read and applied the changes. The problem is, I'm stuck with the Default ICA* and Default RDP* links listed in Connections. Any clue on how I can remove those?

Make sure you have the C10_wnos and if applicable the C10_boot files in the wnos folder on the ftp server. If you have a .exe file there it needs to be extracted.

To hide the default connections you need to have "HideDefault=yes" on an "EnableLocal" parameter, ie:

EnableLocal=no HideDefault=yes

or

EnableLocal=yes HideDefault=yes
