RE: High Memory,Disk and CPU usage on WSM Server

If your Server and Network are okay, then most likely the OS Image itself need some optimization.
Have you already followed the recommendations in "Performance troubleshooting and OS Image optimization" in the WSM Sizing and Planning Guide?
Check the Disk Queue on the WSM Servers StreaminDir disk to understand if this is the performance bottleneck.
The best test to understand if the performance issue us cause by software inside the OS Image is to measure against a prestine, clean OS Image with no Software, Antivirus etc. installed. Then compare the Client Logs.
If your WSM Servers are not running on bare metal, the Hypervisor could be the culprit too. Sometimes ESX and Hyper-V have a negativ impact on the Streaming performance.

the image i guess it's OK because it was working and everything working before and suddenly the problem happened

all servers on blades and on hyper-v

i will test on physical serve

RE: High Memory,Disk and CPU usage on WSM Server

Hello,

We found that the Memory, Disk and CPU usage on WSM Server very High, (Streaming Service)

And clients Boot successfully but the the problem with the Servers only and its Version 7.1 with 64 bit ,

We changed the cache value to 4000

And below the Setcache file

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

02220015 [18:07:01:038] [1204] INFO: LimitCache(Max: 30685MB, Min: 1024MB)...

RE: High Memory,Disk and CPU usage on WSM Server

Per the above logfile MaxSystemCacheMBytes is not set in registry of the WSM Server and hence default values calculated from free memory is applied.
Please check the settings once again and consult the Sizing and Planning Guide for more details on this setting.

RE: High Memory,Disk and CPU usage on WSM Server

Is that correct

its 64 QWORD value and the WSM V is 7.1

RE: High Memory,Disk and CPU usage on WSM Server

It has to be a 32-bit DWORD, this is why it's not working.

Hello,

Still we have the same problem, we changed the value and the log file (Setcache) seems OK and the memory is very high especially Streaming service !

RE: High Memory,Disk and CPU usage on WSM Server

Did you reboot the Server after making the changes in the registry? If not, please do so.

What is the Memory consumption on your Server?
OS Image size and number of devices streamed?

You can calculate the aproximate memory usage of the WSM OS Streaming Service with this formula:
OS Image in MB / 1000 x number of devices.
Example: 40000MB / 1000 = 40MB x 200 = 8000MB.
