Installing Cisco VPN Client on patch

Hello,
I used to install Cisco Systems VPN Client on a WSM image, but I had to install it before capturing the image on the WSM server. This because the setup process installs new network drivers, and that causes the NIC to disconnect for a short time - enough to freeze the OS when trying to install VPN Client on an image streamed in patch process.

Now: does anyone successfully installed VPN Client on an image streamed in patch mode? That would be great if someone did and could help me, because I just created a new image with gigabites of software and customization and forgot to install Cisco VPN Client before capturing it, and that would be a tragedy if I have to create it again :'(
