You can continue to use slmgr.vbs to acitvate the OS manually as described in KB Solution 22106: Wyse WSM - Windows 7 Licensing Best Practices or use the WSM Windows KMS Licensing Tool for the same purpose.
The WSM Windows KMS Licensing Tool is an easy to use UI for slmg.vbs and can be used during OS Image capture operation or any time later while patching the OS.
Applications need to be done manually and separately (for example for Microsoft Office).

Only if a) Cliens cannot discover the KMS Server via DNS or b) a new Product Key should be entered or c) you want to rearm the Image the WSM Windows KMS Licensing Tool / slmg.vbs have to be used.
If your Clients find the KMS Server and activate automatically I guess there's nothing more to do, given that the KMS licensing count has reached the minimum numer of requests (i.e. 25 Clients) and issuing licenses and clients get activated.
As explained the WSM Windows KMS Licensing Tool is just an easy to use UI for slmg.vbs and if you are more familiar using the .vbs and follow your procedures to use KMS in your environment.
All information on Windows Product activation in a WSM environment is documented in KB Solution 22106: Wyse WSM - Windows 7 Licensing Best Practices.
