WSM 6.1 and R00L OS Creation
WSM 6.1 and R00L OS Creation
Good Morning,
I wanted to save myself a 1/2 day of work by asking a quick question. We are using WSM 6.1 and R00L clients in one of our locations. We are currently streaming Windows XP images, but I'm looking to upgrade to Windows 7.
Is it possible to stream Windows 7 to R00L clients? Can they handle that OS without any performance issues?

R00L has an single-core AMD Sempron CPU @ 1,0 Ghz with integrated GPU and was introduced back in 2008.
Technically it's feasable to run Windows 7 on this platform, but End User Experience may likely not be great due to requirements of AERO and Windows 7 in General.
Disabling visual effects could help to improve GUI Performance, but for the price of loosing many advantages of the new look and feel of modern operating systems.
For Windows 7/8/Next Wyse 5400 (D00Q) or 7400 (Z00Q) is my recommend if you decide to move to a new Cloud Desktop platform.
