We have an open ticket with WYSE Support on this issue but figured we can gather other experiences from other users/environments as we are just starting to deploy these Thin Clients. We use Citrix XenApp 5.0 with the online plug-in 12.3. Basically, what we have observed is that certain PDF documents (not all) specially high resolution ones that are more than 5 pages would print only 1, 2 or 3 pages even on a network printer. Forget a USB-connected standalone printer because that one has less internal memory than network printers. So, we have 2 Sharp printers installed locally on the WYSE TC with TCP/IP. We have since increased the RamDisk on the TC's from the default 100MB to the max of 512MB and that has alleviated a lot of the PDF's that would previously print incomplete. However, we still encounter a few PDF documents that would not print competely (i.e. a 39-page document would print as close as 36 pages) and nothing else comes out. No errors shown, no blank pages coming out, print queue disappears as if the whole job was printed. But it's missing pages. WYSE Support last answer was to play with the printer setting of "Print directly to printer" vice "Spool print documents..." but that did not resolve the issue. It actually became slower because each double-sided page would come out every 15 seconds and still missed printing the last 3 pages. Here's the kicker, this issue does not happen when using the same Citrix XenApp online plug-in 12.3 on a regular desktop. So, it has to be the TC. Our question now is, has anybody else encountered or heard of this issue before and maybe we need to add more internal RAM, purchase a higher model, more Flash drive capacity, etc. anything?

Here's what I got from Citrix:
"What you are seeing is as expected/designed. The print job gets spooled in the local print spoler on the XenApp host where the application that the user prints from is running. If they print to a network printer, the spool file is then passed on to the print spooler on the network print server either directly (depending on the Citrix "Direct connections to print servers" policy rule setting, the default action is to connect directly) or indirectly via the ICA client. If users print to local printers physically attached to their client devices, the spool file will be sent from the XenApp host straight to the client device where it will be injected to the local spooler for further processing before reaching the local print driver and finally the print device."
Based on this behavior, why dont you try adding a USB stick (1 or 2GB) to the thin client and change the temp parameter to this new drive drive and see what happens?

Thank you for the input. However, on your suggestion, do you mean that the USB stick becomes the equivalent of the RAMDISK (which we have adjusted to 512 MB) on the TC?

No, it does not become the RAMdisk, What it does is provides you with a drive with more storage than the RAMdisk where you can store your temp files.
